Pastor Ock Soo Park

Paster Ock Soo Park who is the representative of the Good News Mission in Korea was born again in 1962 through the grace of God. After then, for more than 40 years, he has preached the secret of forgiveness and being born again in army, in leper's town and in the prisons. He leads gospel conferences several times a year in many countries. He is currently serving as the senior paster at Kangnam Church located at Seoul, South Korea.

1. International Gospel Preacher

After founding the Good News Mission Church, beginning with the Busan Grand Conference, he preaches the gospel as the main speaker at grand conferences held annually in every major city in Korea including Seoul, Daegu, Incheon, Daejeon, Kwangju, etc. Not just in Korea, but in every major city in the world such as LA (US), NY (US), Tokyo (Japan), Bangkok (Thailand), Nairobi (Kenya), Accra (Ghana), Buenos Ares (Argentina), Lima (Peru), Moscow (Russia), Saint Petersburg (Russia), etc. He is also in charge of the “Gospel Time” as the Main speaker for the annual “Summer and Winter Retreat” for the past 30 years

2. Education Committee

Pastor Ock-soo Park preached the gospel to countless prisoners at the Suwon Prison, Daejeon Prison and Jeonju Prison as a member of the Education Committee, changing them so that they can live new lives. For example, murderer Ki-sung Kim who changed and is currently ministering in Korea, the murderers Young-taek Kim and Sae-won Oh who have been released and are living bright and blessed lives with their families. Also, the condemned criminal Man-soo Kim at Daegu Prison, who after hearing the gospel and changing, before his execution told his executioners, “I may not be able to receive forgiveness according to Korean law, but all of my sins have been forgiven according to God’s law. I hope that all your sins will be forgiven according to God’s law,” and after singing a hymn, was executed. He also visited a leper colony and preached the gospel to countless lepers.

3. Troop Information and Education (TI&E) Lecturer

In 2004, Pastor Ock-soo Park was selected as the TI&E Lecturer by the ROK Army Headquarters, touring various army bases and giving special lectures on “suicide prevention,” so that the young soldiers can complete their military service with stable hearts. In addition, he works hard so that every year through the Gracias Choir’s performances, Cantata, etc., the soldiers’ morale is improved and in their barracks, the soldiers listen to the gospel and they have a rich cultural experience.

5. Best Selling Author

Written by Pastor Ock Soo Park, the best seller “The Secret of Forgiveness and Being Born Again 1,” with over 500,000 copies published, has given countless people the assurance of being born again. It has been translated into 24 major languages including English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, German, Russian and Tagalog. It can be called the representative book of today’s Christianity, leading the whole world to true spiritual life. Pastor Ock Soo Park has authored 38 books and every book that is published reforms numerous souls to the Holy Spirit and becomes a tool for preaching the gospel.

6. His Broadcasted Sermons Seen and Heard by the Whole World

His broadcasted sermons began in 1985 with “The Truth Will Set You Free” on Asia Broadcasting Company (Far East Broadcasting Company) and in 1990, his “Lectures on Genesis” was broadcasted on Radio Korea in LA for 5 years. Beginning in 1996, he began broadcasting his sermons “The Word of Life” on TV on Washington’s KTV and in 1997, he began broadcasting his sermons “Lectures on Genesis” on NY’s KTV. In 1998, the Internet homepage (http://www.goodnews.or.kr) was created and presented in 9 major languages including Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, and Spanish and using Internet broadcasting, the gospel is being spread all over the world. Beginning in 2000, on LA’s KN-TV, his sermons “Lectures on Genesis” and “Lectures on Matthew” were broadcasted on TV. Currently, Pastor Ock-soo Park’s sermons are dubbed and broadcasted all over South America and Africa. In 2000, “Visual Fellowship with Pastor Ock-soo Park” started, combining Internet broadcasting and chatting, and it continues to be telecasted every Saturday night from 10 to 11 P.M. (Seoul). Through the broadcasts, many people overseas receive assurance of their salvation and the dispatched missionaries are supplied with faith.

7. Minister who Guides the Youth, Educator who Trains Missionaries

In 1976, he established the Korean Gospel Missionary School (now “Good News Mission Church Missionary School") and has trained and dispatched approximately 700 ministers, established 300 churches in Korea and 100 churches in 40 countries, and with every church centered around preaching the gospel, the gospel is being spread powerfully. Pastor Ock-soo Park leads his ministers, not through knowledge and theories, but so that they can minister through faith.

In particular, in August 2007, through the “East Africa Ministers’ Retreat,” by planting knowledge about the Bible and the life a servant of God should live in the local ministers, we gave them a chance to minister through faith.

Also, after establishing the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) (beginning in 1995, held the International Youth Retreat, legally registered under the name “International Youth Fellowship” in 2001), through the “IYF World Camp,” “IYF Global Camp,” “English Speech Contest,” “IYF Culture,” “Good News Corps” (Overseas Field Experience) training and dispatch, “English Camp,” and “University Operation,” which are all held annually, he guides the youth.
